Our Legacy
Founded in 1939, the Falls Church Scout Building Association (FCSBA) has been a steadfast steward of youth education and community in Northern Virginia. Built through the dedication and generosity of local volunteers and donors, the historic log cabin known affectionately as the “Scout House” continues to embody the principles of scouting—service, leadership, character—that inspired its creators.
Today, a passionate all-volunteer Board of Directors, carrying forward the spirit of those early volunteers, ensures the Scout House remains a vibrant meeting place for youth-focused organizations and community groups
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a welcoming, safe, and affordable facility where area youth groups can come together, grow, and learn. We strive to:
Cultivate conservation awareness and a love for community service
Support youth development through structured and informal programming
Promote the scouting ethos, while welcoming diverse youth and educational organizations
Inspire civic responsibility and ethical leadership
Why We Matter
The Scout House is more than just a building—it’s a living piece of community history. Generations of youth have learned teamwork, leadership, and outdoor skills in its rustic embrace. For many, the moment they step inside, they’re transported to a timeless place that bridges past and present fcnp.com.
Built from locally donated logs and stone, the structure stands as a testament to community craftsmanship, civic spirit, and the power of volunteerism. Since 2008 most of the property of the Falls Church Scout Building has been deeded to the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust as a Conservation Easement. This provides for the property to remain as a natural resource. The NVCT oversees any changes or issues with the natural state of the property and has final approval of them.
